Born June 3, 1960, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Fred Martin and Julia Gilson Brzezinski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Martin.
Mary Jo was a woman of deep and abiding faith, whose love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life each day. A devoted member of Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church, she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others. Her faith was her foundation, guiding her with strength, grace, and compassion.
Above all, Mary Jo cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest happiness came from time spent with those she loved most. Her family was truly her passion, and she poured her heart into caring for them, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Mary Jo was known as an excellent cook, delighting family and friends with her meals. She was especially famous for her legendary green bean casserole and her homemade cheesecake, lovingly prepared each holiday season—traditions that will be treasured and remembered for years to come.
She also had a creative spirit and enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking, preserving memories that will now serve as lasting reminders of her love. In quieter moments, she found peace in reading and simple time at home.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Allan Lee Larson, Jr.; her two daughters, Kirsten Weaks (Ryan) and Lauren Larson; her cherished granddaughter, Elena Weaks, and a very soon-to-arrive grandson; her sister, Rhonda Karns (Leroy); and many extended family members and dear friends.
A service celebrating her life and faith will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Travis Cassell officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mary Jo will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family, a love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
