Mary Taylor Smith

Born in Allen’s Creek, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Thomas Taylor and the late Honor Wood Taylor Smoot. In addition to parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George “Sandy” Taylor, Rudy Taylor and Thomas Taylor and one sister, Maggie Ashwell.

Mary Evelyn was retired from the Republic Insurance Co. and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her four beloved daughters, Gloria Smith, Ruth Smith, Helen Devine and Brenda Johnson and her husband, James; two brothers, Leonard Taylor and Allen Taylor; one sister, Aloma “Bunny” Routon; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
