He was born on July 29, 1941 in Narrows, son of the late Ovid B. Johnson and the late Gladys R. Johnson.
Mike was a retired principal for Bedford County Schools. He loved to golf, fish, and do his woodworking.
His passion though was his family who he would do anything for.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Joyce to whom he had been married for 56 years; three sons, David Johnson and wife Sherry, Phillip Johnson, and Mark Johnson and wife Sherry; a brother, Pat Johnson and wife Ellene and a sister, Harriet Archer. He is also survived by five grandsons, Corey Johnson, Duston Johnson, Hunter Johnson and wife Ashley, Grayson Johnson and Brayden Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Timberlake United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
