Michael Shortridge

Michael Shortridge, age 66 of Rustburg passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 17, 1951 in Tookland, Virginia, son of the late Dewey and Venia Shortridge. Mike was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from Rustburg Auto Service. He was known for his infectious laugh and his love for the Virginia Lottery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Burnette Shortridge. He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Wright and husband Wyatt; brother, Ricky Shortridge and wife Doris; a sister Wilma Phelps and husband Frankie as well as three nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at New Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Dooley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
