Mosby (Boogie) Herman Brooks, III, 70, of Rustburg, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born January 17, 1943, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Mosby Herman Brooks, Jr. and the late Beulah Lloyd Ayers.
Mosby was a retired maintenance engineer for Griffin Pipe. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and uncle.
Mosby is survived by three sons, Mosby Edward Brooks of Lynchburg, Herman Lloyd Brooks of Rustburg and Troy Lee Brooks of Lynchburg; three siblings, Leroy Ayers, Jr. (Jane) of Rustburg, Patsy Simonton of Rustburg and Don Ayers, Sr. (Brenda) of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Christina Brooks, Herman Brooks, Jr. and Heather Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Cindy Williams of Gladys.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel officiated by the Rev. Mack Johnson. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
