Born in Lynchburg, January 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Glen and Ruth Mayo Smoot. She was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Rodney Burchette and his wife, Linda of South Boston; one granddaughter, Meredith Tasker and her husband, Art of Monroe; one grandson, Brad Burchette and his wife Jennifer of Madison Heights; and four great grandchildren, Elora and Andrew Burchette of Madison Heights and Jacob and Brooke Tasker of Monroe.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Dr. Robert Putt officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
