

Born in New York, NY, October 29, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Levy and Dora Joseph Levy. She was the first President of the Lynchburg League of Women Voters, was active on numerous community and non-profit boards especially those committed to services for the disabled, and a member of Agudath Sholom Synagogue. She was instrumental in starting the Laurel School for children with disabilities and served as the pro bono services coordinator of the Lynchburg Legal Aid office.
Survivors include her three children, Roberta C. Logwood and husband Kenneth of Washington, DC, David Cooper and wife Barbara Tyroler of Chapel Hill, NC, and Tina Cooper of Goode, Va.; three grandchildren, Samm Sacks and husband Mike of Brooklyn, NY, David Logwood of Washington, DC and Katie Logwood of Philadelphia, Pa., and one great grandson, Akiva Cooper Sacks.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Agudath Sholom Synagogue. Interment will follow at the Beth Joseph Agudath Sholom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either the Lynchburg Public Library or the Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing.
