IN THE CARE OF
Whitten Timberlake Chapel
Nathan Franklin “Frank” Coker, Jr., 75, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Richmond, September 2, 1946, he was the son of the late Nathan Franklin Coker, Sr. and Mary Selph Coker.
Frank was such a good man with a huge heart. The people around him always felt cared for because Frank genuinely cared. He was a man everyone looked up too. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if he felt you needed it even if he didn't know you. Frank loved anything with a motor and could work on anything .... he also loved animals and wouldn't kill any living thing. We had deer on our property constantly...He feed them. NO HUNTING ALLOWED. We lived on the river, so he also fed the fish. No fishing in his feeding hole. He would nurse any hurt animal back to health if at all possible. Many People have said "Frank was the most intelligent person I have ever known. " He has friends anywhere he ever visited.
He graduated from Fork Union Military Academy. Enlisted in the Navy, Vietnam Veteran. Attended and Graduated from Medical College of Virginia School of Radiologic Technology in 1972. He worked at Johnston Willis / Chippenham Hospital for 46 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Coker Lynch.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Sisson Coker.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Derek Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
