Nolan Phillip Burton

Nolan Phillip Burton, 86, formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his residence in Edenton, NC. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Hicks Burton. Born in Charlotte County, October 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles W. Burton and Irene Clark Burton. Nolan was raised at the Odd Fellows Home of Virginia in Lynchburg. Nolan was retired from Consumers Dornin & Adams after 45 years of service. He was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and worked part time for Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University since 2003. Nolan was a wonderful & loyal husband and great father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by one brother, Stanford M Burton, one sister Lois Marshall and one grandson, Christopher Patrick Cooper. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Gina Burton Butler and her husband David, Cindy Burton Cooper and her husband Keyto, Sharon Burton McCormick and her husband Tony and Becky Lynne Burton; one son, Nolan Phillip Burton, Jr.; one brother, Charles W. Burton and his wife Kathy; 11 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A service celebrating his life and faith will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 in the Old Thomas Road Pate Chapel at 707 Thomas Road with Pastor Jonathan Falwell and Pastor David Crumpler officiating.
