Born September 6, 1927 in Kannapolis, NC, he was the son of the late Graham T. and Janie Lipscomb Wilkins and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Blankenship. He was retired from Meade Corp. and Rock-Tenn and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife, Sandy is survived by one daughter, Susan Davis; two sons, Graham Wilkins and William Crawford; two sisters, Betty Baker and Carolyn Bryant, all of Lynchburg; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Whiten Park Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Joey Giles and Pastor Carlton Duck officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park, Forest.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., today, November 29, 2011 at the funeral home.
