Patricia Witt Orange Cunningham, 81, of Madison Heights passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at her residence. She was the wife of Gordon Ray Cunningham, who served selflessly as her dedicated caregiver for the endurance of her difficult illness. Born February 22, 1934, in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Edward Garland Witt and the late Laura Laughlin Witt.
Patricia was a retired floral designer for Kathryn’s Florist and she attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Tony Orange and his wife Toni of Lynchburg and Laura Orange Evans and her husband Mark of Danville, CA; four stepchildren, David Cunningham and his wife Karen of Madison Heights, Billy Cunningham of Hurt, Wendy Angus of Lynchburg and Todd Cunningham and his wife Cameron of Roanoke; two sisters, Laura Jane Bradley of Lynchburg and Charlotte Sexton and her husband Randy of Goode; one brother, Herman Witt and his wife Shirley of Bedford; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
