Paul Meade Morrison

In addition to his parents, John J. and Mary Doyle Morrison, he was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Helen E. Morrison and three brothers, John J. Morrison, Jr., Charles M. Morrison and Thomas A. Morrison.

He is survived by his six children, Paul M. Morrison, Jr. and his wife Laura of Lynchburg; Donald J. Morrison of Lynchburg, Mary Jane Morrison and her husband Leigh Harris of Arden, NC, Helen Morrison Long and her husband Jim of Elizabethtown, KY, John F. Morrison and his wife Betsy of Clinton, IA and Julia Morrison Pruitt of Lancaster, OH; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Paul graduated from Holy Cross High School and the University of Notre Dame. After serving the in United States Navy, he operated John J. Morrison and Sons in Lynchburg with his father and brother, Thomas. He was also a member of the Lynchburg Regional Health Planning Council and Applied Radiant Energy Corporation. He was a board member of many civic institutions including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Salvation Army, Fidelity Bank and Guggenheimer Memorial Hospital. He was active with the Boy Scouts where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, Little League, Connie Mack and Lynchburg Baseball. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush and Fr. Paul F. Doyle officiating with a reception in the church commons following the Mass. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg followed by a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
