
Pauline Gamache Ficor, 96, of Lynchburg, passed away, Monday, March 3, 2014, at her residence at Westminster Canterbury. She was the wife of the late John Ficor. Born March 1, 1918, in Lewiston, ME, she was the daughter of the late Maxime Gamache and the late Leotine Gagne’ Gamache.
Pauline was a retired nurse for Lynchburg General Hospital, and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She also served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pauline was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Pauline is survived by her three sons, Thomas Ficor of Winston-Salem, NC, Larry Ficor of Lynchburg and John Ficor of Richmond; one sister, Geraldine Rasmussen of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Erin Ficor, Jamie Ficor and his wife Nicole, Amanda Ficor and Christine Ficor; one great-granddaughter, Emma Quinn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted, 3pm, Friday, March 7, 2014, with the Rev. Msr. J. Kenneth Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
