He was born in Lynchburg on June 30, 1931, son of the late Robert Wesley Brooks, Sr. and Estelle Almond Brooks.
Phillip was retired from Allen Morrison Sign Company. He was a great woodworker and loved tinkering with and working on Hit-and-Miss engines. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Goad Brooks; one son, Larry W. Brooks; two sisters, Loreane Jamerson and Clara Millner White; three brothers, Duval Brooks, Arthur Brooks and Shirley Brooks.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Freddie Millner, Sr. and wife Bonnie, Carolyn Edmondson and husband Allen, Alan D. Brooks, Linda Long, Cindy DeBruhl and husband David; one brother, Robert W. Brooks, Jr., as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Phillip’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:45 am – 12:45 pm at the funeral home.
