Born May 31, 1948 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Charles Mitchell and Rosa Phelps Goodman and was also preceded in death by five brothers.
He is survived by his significant other, Susan Robinson of Lynchburg and four sisters, Janet Lloyd and Christine Carter and husband, Tim, all of Lynchburg, Barbara Lloyd and husband Tommy of Amherst County, and Margaret Phelps of Brookneal and one brother, Dennis Mitchell “Jake” Goodman of Lynchburg.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Shekinah Glory Baptist Church with Pastor Carlton Dunn officiating, with a reception to follow the service in the social hall.
