Phyllis Arthur Carter, 73, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at her residence. She was the wife of William Harold Carter, Jr. Born April 28, 1943, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Delmar Lawrence Arthur and the late Mamie Nuckles Arthur.
Phyllis was a retired dietician for Heritage Green, and a member of Amazing Grace Ministries.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Delmar Arthur, Jr. and Reva Arthur.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by her four children, Shelia C. Brown and her husband David of Culpeper, Harold Carter of Coleman Falls, Clint Carter and his wife Denise of Lynchburg and Charles Carter and his wife Stacie of Lynchburg; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
