Preston Garnett Page, 73, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on December 15, 1945 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Elbert Lee Page, Sr. and the late Dorothy Mayberry Page. Preston retired from Griffin Pipe Foundry after 37 years of service. He enjoyed taking walks, watching NASCAR and western movies, cutting grass, traveling with road trips and parkway drives, and trains.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Lee Page, Jr.
Preston is survived by his daughter, Ashley Pittman and husband Andrew; three grandchildren, Lydia Page, Averiel Hooks, and James Hooks; sister, Genevieve Page Thompson and husband Clyde; and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park with military honors presented by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
