
Rachel May Little Logwood, 67, of Evington, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earl Lee Logwood.
Born December 12, 1943 in Evington, she was the daughter of the late Sinkler Ervin and Lucy Virginia Cox Little and was also preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Faye Logwood and three brothers, Gene, Reid, and Jessie Little. Mrs. Logwood was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Evington.
Mrs. Logwood is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Webber (Larry), Tonya Stone (Phillip), and Kathy Lynn Logwood; two sons, George Logwood (Martha) and Jeffrey Scott Logwood; two step-sons, Earl Logwood and Jimmy Logwood; four sisters, Bessie Seamster, Lizzie Adkins, Marie Little, and Judy Bruffy; two brothers, Jack Little and Herman Little; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one grandchild on the way.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Evington with the Rev. David Place and the Rev. David Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at Mrs. Logwood’s residence.
Mrs. Logwood loved summer colors; therefore, the family requests those attending the service to wear summer colors, if possible.
