Born in Lynchburg on December 9, 1963 he was a son of Marshall ‘Tex” Leftwich (Patsy) and his late mother Beverly “Diane” Gowen. He was a retired bindery operator at R.R. Donnelley. Randy was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church where he was a devout Christian, He was a big Seattle Seahawks fan, a lover of Corvettes, and an accomplished bowler who bowled a perfect game of 300.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother Helen Baker and an aunt, Catherine Burford.
In addition to his wife and father he is survived by a son, Jimmy Adams, Jr. of Blackstone; a brother Sanford “Sandy” Gowen of Lynchburg; a granddaughter, Hope Taylor Adams of Richmond; and Verne Lemke of Lynchburg who was like his second father.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, May 17, 2021 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Al Hill officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
