Ray Edward Wilcher

Ray Edward Wilcher, 70, of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Centra Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Nancy Thacker Wilcher. Born August 31, 1945, in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Marvin Elmo Wilcher and the late Nellie Steger Wilcher.

Ray was a retired clerk for Goodwill and a member of First Baptist Church, Monroe, VA.

Ray is survived by two sons, Todd Wilcher and Christopher Wilcher; two stepdaughters, Linda Sears and her husband Scott of Lynchburg and Cindy Smith and her husband Bobby of Tennessee; one stepson, Ronnie Franklin and his wife Mary of Lynchburg; four siblings, Marvin E. Wilcher, Jr. and his wife Aleta of Ashland, Carolyn W. Thacker and her husband Raymond of Covington , Gayle W. Ryan and her husband Mickey of Madison Heights and Juanita W. Valiente and her husband Ric of Madison Heights; five step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private.
