
Raymond H. Dix, Sr., 70, of Lynchburg, died, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born January 20, 1940 in Danville, he was the son of the late William Price Dix, Sr. and Mary Price Dix.
Mr. Dix worked in maintenance for the Central Virginia Training Center and he was a member of Jordan Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dix is preceded in death by one brother, Raleigh Dix; one sister, Vera Hunt; one son Anthony Dwayne Dix; and one daughter, Sheila Ann Dix.
Mr. Dix is survived by one son Raymond Dix, Jr. and his wife Doris of Lynchburg; two brothers, Grady Dix and Price Williams Dix, Jr., both of Danville; two sisters, Joyce Cook of Danville and Jeanette Reynolds of Richmond; five grandchildren, Opal Bryant, Angel Dalton, John Paul Dix, Crystal Dix and Hank L. Crouch.
He loved his family dearly and everyone loved him dearly.
A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010 at Spring Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev. Melvin Campbell.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
