

Reese was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Virginia Viar Creasy; as well as two daughters, Dorothy Ann Creasy and Bonnie Sue Koepper; four brothers and three sisters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Dr. Allen W. Creasy; daughter, Deronda Kay Cornwell and husband Roy; son-in-law, Richard Koepper; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caretaker, John Stevens.
Reese was a long time member of Yellow Branch Baptist Church, where he served in capacity as Deacon. He served in the U.S. Army with the 246 Coast Artillery Harbor Defense and in the U.S. Navy on six ships and Naval Frontier Base. He worked for Hyland Heights Baptist Church, and he retired from Chapstick Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and the U.S. Army Freedom Team.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Brenda Little, social worker, and staff of Seven Hills Hospice, and the staff of Autumn Care for the compassionate care they provided for our loved one. The family is also thankful for the ongoing love and support of his church family, particularly Rev. Timothy Wilde and Rev. John Willis.
The celebration of Reese’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at Yellow Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Wilde officiating. Interment will follow at Altavista Memorial Park, where Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Reese’s name to Yellow Branch Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 16.
