Born in Hartford, CT, he is the son of the late Joseph Charles Benoit and the late Lucille Plante Benoit.
Richard was a retired administrator of the Old Dominion Job Corps and a member of Calvary Chapel of Lynchburg. He was a retired U.S.P.T.A. Professional after 28 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by two step children, Jason Price and his wife, Heather, of Forest and Marit Price Spisany and her husband, Mark, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; two sisters, JoAnn B. Smith and her husband, Kenneth and Renee B. Whalen, all of Windsor, CT and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Calvary Chapel of Lynchburg, on Leesville Rd. with Pastor Troy Warner, officiating.
Richard had a heart for missions and would appreciate memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to Hope Academy, a new school being started in Nepal by Calvary Chapel's missionaries.
