Richard Heffner

Born December 25, 1948 in Troy, NY, he was a son of the late Harold Walter Heffner and Helen Marguerite Bott Heffner. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret Ellen Stone Heffner; two sons, Daniel Paul Heffner of Richmond and David Kenne Heffner of Lynchburg; one daughter, Ellen Elisabeth Heffner of Lynchburg; one brother, Harold Heffner, his wife Mary and their son Jesse all of Stowe, VT; his mother-in-law, Lois B. Stone and two brothers-in-law, David E. Stone of Lynchburg and Kenneth A. Stone and his wife Kimberly of Smithfield, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Eugene Stone.

Rick was a security supervisor for Centra Health and was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. He attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY and then served for 8 months as a missionary in Israel. He was a man of great faith and had looked forward to the coming of the LORD.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Hyland Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Weiser officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
