Born on July 5, 1939 in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Casper and Lucy Marchand. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Helen Majury Marchand. Richard's life was one deeply intertwined with service, community, and a passion for the things he loved. Born with a spirit of dedication, he spent his career at Wyckoff's Department of Public Works, leaving a legacy of hard work and commitment. Away from the rigors of service, Richard found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for Polka music was a constant source of happiness, whether he was enjoying it through the airwaves or dancing along at live performances.
