Robert Benjamin Johnson, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Liberty Ridge Health and Rehab. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy H. Johnson.
Born on July 3, 1932 in Amherst County, he was known to his family and friends as “Benny or Chester”. Robert was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during World War II. He worked for both Wilson’s Heating and Air and Goin Heating and Air where he was known for being the best self-taught duct men in the area. Robert also liked to collect coins and loved baseball and softball. Robert was truly loved and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Wendy Lee and husband Robert E. Lee; and special friends that helped with his care, Vincent and Sandra Moorefield.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Reverend Dr. Robert Phillips officiating.
