Robert Kirby Purcell, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away, Monday, March 31, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Rev. Nancy Lou Purcell. Born May 16, 1934, in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late John Purcell and the late Agnes Kirby Purcell.
Robert was a retired teacher and owner/founder of Allaire Pre-School in Wall Township, NJ, and he was a member of Unity in the Seven Hills Church.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughters, Kirby Ann Purcell and her husband Bruce Hildenberger, Mary Sue Purcell and Kasey Purcell Forehand and her husband James B. Forehand,III, all of Lynchburg; one sister, Mary Agnes Purcell of Sun City, FL; five grandchildren, Kelly Williams Nicole Rice, Kevin Rice, Brenna Forehand and Nolyn Forehand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James River Day School.
