Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Witt, 67, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Jeftazek Witt. Born August 16, 1950, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Lee Thomas Witt and the late Myrtle Elizabeth Dunn Witt.
Ronnie was a self-employed body and fender mechanic and a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church. Ronnie served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid collector of antique bottles, loved going to flea markets and antique stores and enjoyed to go hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Dale Witt.
Ronnie is survived by his children Bryan Witt, Brandy Witt and Stephen Witt, all of Lynchburg; one sister Sandra Tyree of Evington; and other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Barry Burkholder officiating. Entombment will follow at the Virginia Memorial Park Mausoleum, where Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
