Ruby Baldwin Carpenter

Born July 14, 1925, in Bedford Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward Baldwin, and Lucille Palmer Baldwin. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, and one brother.

Mrs. Carpenter was retired from GE, and was a member of Fairview Christian Church. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World Court #379, Rebekah Lodge #52, and Chancel Choir of Fairview Christian Church. She was a longtime volunteer for the Lynchburg Area Food bank, and The Daily Bread.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Tomlinson and husband Smiley, of Lynchburg, Nancy Barnard and husband Jim, of Raleigh, NC, and Susan Hamner and husband Kevin, of Cleveland, TN, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the funeral home by Pastor Curtis E. Wheeler. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Caring Fund of Fairview Christian Church, the Lynchburg Area Food Bank, or The Daily Bread.
