Ruby Trent Gallagher

Born in Danville, June 3, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James Walter Trent and Lemma Mills Trent. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of Jordan Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Grant and husband Harold and two sons, John H. Gallagher, III and wife Barbara and Richard Allen Gallagher and wife Debbie all of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Sharon Pritchett and husband Lawson, Karen Little, Jennifer Dudinow and husband Jeremy, Sarah Gallagher, Heather Breeden and husband Michael, Randi Gallagher and John H. Gallagher, IV; eight great grandchildren, Brandon Pritchett, Cody Grant, Jacob Little, Jesse Little, Katelyn Gunter, Gabriel Gallagher, Brycen McKillip & Joshua Breeden and three great-great grandchildren, Jade, Cole and Ruby Pritchett. She is also survived by three loving nieces, Bettie Bomar (Buddie), Connie Grogan (Pender) and Gladys Wright.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
