Ruby Farnsworth Snyder

Born on July 1, 1923 in Amelia County, daughter of the late Charles Byron Farnsworth and Nettie Gay Farnsworth.

Ruby was retired from General Electric where she worked in the assembly room. She loved to garden, take care of flowers, crochet blankets and also spent many years making Santa of the world figurines at the Community Market, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family, friends, and grandchildren who called her “Gan Gan”.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Puryear and husband Jesse of Gladys, Jane Zeigler and husband Harold of New Cumberland, Pa.; two brothers, Charles Farnsworth, Jr., Garland Farnsworth and wife Lois, all of Richmond; four grandchildren; six grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Cookie.

A funeral service will be held, 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Reverend Brian Reynolds officiating. A private burial will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at her residence.
