Russell Alfred Krantz Jr.

Born May 20th, 1947, Russell was a graduate of Lynchburg College earning his bachelor’s degree in applied physics. He was known for his work and dedication to his community and the country serving both in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division and later serving for three decades as a fireman for Lynchburg and surrounding counties. Later he served his community by starting Krantz Construction Company. Russell was known for his service, dedication, and ability to work on and fix anything he got his hands on and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

In addition to his parents Russell was preceded in passing by his nephew John Krantz, Jr., and his grandson Ryan Massie.

Those left to cherish Russell’s memory include his loving wife Wanda Krantz; his son Cory Krantz and his wife Holly, of Forest, VA; his daughters Tina Krantz and her husband Jason, of Madison Heights, VA, Selena Moss and her husband Charles, of Palmyra, VA; six grandchildren Alexzandria Krantz of Portland, OR, Bryton Krantz, of Campbell County, VA, Hunter Salmon, of Lynchburg, VA, Haven Salmon and his fiancé Reece, of Lynchburg, VA, Bella and Issac Krantz, of Forest, VA; his brothers John Krantz and his wife Becky, of Rustburg, VA, Gerald Krantz and his wife Robin, of Evington, VA; and his sister Lynn Williams and her husband Jackie or Dundas, VA.

The family will be receiving friends from 5-8pm on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, all are invited to attend and share memories of Russell.
