
Ruth Robertson Carson, 96, of Lynchburg, died, Sunday, November 28, 2010 at The Summit. She was the wife of the late Theodore Richard Carson. Born October 21, 1914, in Spout Spring, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Hogue Robertson and Rosa Louisa Bondurant Robertson.
Mrs. Carson was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Concord. She was also a member of the Concord Garden Club.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Carson is preceded in death by two brothers, Sheriff David T. Robertson and Shearer B. Robertson; one sister, Elizabeth Asher; and one sister-in-law, Katherine Robertson.
Mrs. Carson is survived by one daughter, Barbara C. Evans and her husband, Calvin of Lynchburg; one brother, Howard Robertson of Altavista; one sister, Rosa Mahoney of Georgia; one granddaughter, Linda Ottinger Dinkle and her husband, J.T. of Goode; two step great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Dan Dibble officiating. Entombment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Altavista.
The family will receive friends, 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
