Sally "Betty" Lillard

She was born in Appomattox, VA on May 14, 1932, daughter of the late Willie H. Sterne and the late Lena A. Sterne. In addition to her parents, her loving husband of 60 years, Richard E. Lillard, Sr.; a daughter, Kathy Smith and a sister, Ann Locke, preceded her in death.

Betty was an active member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church for the past 54 years. She was an amazing artist, enjoyed cooking and loved her family and friends.

Betty is survived by 4 children, Steve Lillard (Sue), Melissa Johnson (Joel), Joey Lillard (Kemper) and Rick Lillard, Jr. (Amie), a son in law, Buddy Smith and 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Carl Weiser and Missionary Joel Johnson officiating. Interment will be private.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Betty’s caregivers, Shawnica Mosely and Jessica Elliott.
