Born in Bedford County, December 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank Nelson and Gertrude Wooldridge Hawkins.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelby Casey of Greensboro, NC, Barbara Johnson of Lynchburg, Linda Quinet of Dundalk, MD and Marvin Guthrie of Essex, MD; one sister, Gladys Mae Harris of Edgewood, MD; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
