
Rev. Thomas Milton Reid, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Hall Reid.
Born April 27, 1931 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Hester Childress Reid and was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Wallace Reid and one sister, Sally Bragg. He was retired from Craddock & Terry Shoe Corp. with forty years of service and a veteran of the Virginia National Guard. Rev. Reid was an ordained Babtist Minsiter, and had preached and served in many churches in the area.
Rev. Reid is survived by two sons, Thomas D. Reid and wife, Janice of Evington and Jeffrey L. Reid of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, James, Debra, and Timothy Reid and four great-grandchildren, Chandler, Alexis, Olivia, and Jayden Reid..
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Doug Roakes and the Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Monday, July 4, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
