Thomas James "Tom" Swisher

Tom was born on a beautiful, Sunday afternoon, August 18, 1963 to Jimmy and Frances Swisher in Lynchburg. In addition to his parents, Tom is survived by his wife, Olga and son, Michael; brother, Brian Witt and wife Alexa and their son, Andrew.

Tom retired from the Lynchburg Fire Department, October 1, 2013, after twenty-eight years of service to the city of Lynchburg.

The family suggests that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomason Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cecilia MacCallum and Hospice for their care in the last days of Tom’s life.

The family will receive family and friends at the home of Tom’s parents, 700 Trents Ferry Road, Lynchburg.

It was Tom’s wish to be cremated.
