He was a father, husband, brother, son, relative, friend and veteran – in that order. He hoped his two wonderful, beautiful daughters, Katie and Megan will not miss him too much. He will always be with them. They have always been the light of his life. He hoped is wife Bonnie will keep his love in her heart forever. I know he has always loved her and always will. He was born on August 4, 1947 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was educated in Lynchburg city schools and did not suffer from it. He graduated from E. C. Glass High School in June 1965. He attended Phillips Business College, Central Virginia Community College, Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Virginia – Northern Virginia extension and never graduated from any of them. When he passed away, he was still trying to decide what he wanted to be when he grew up. He spent twenty years of his life serving in the US Navy. He retired in February 1989. Two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Tripoli, a helicopter carrier, helped shape his life and attitude. During both tours he was assigned the collateral duty of Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) team member. Until the birth of his daughters, this duty was the proudest achievement of his life. He was fortunate in 1992 to be hired by the Orkand Corporation and return to Lynchburg to help start up an operation in support of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). When the USPS decided to take these operations in-house instead of contracting them out again, he was hired by USPS to stay and manage the operation. He subsequently retired from the Postal Service after many trying years. His father, William E. Harvey (Bill) and Mother, Mary Lou Brown Harvey preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, Bonnie and his daughters Katie and Megan, He is survived by his brother Tony and daughter Peyton. Also surviving are a myriad of family members too numerous to mention, even if he could remember all the names. There are also many friends whose lives touched his and helped him be a better person. He loved playing sports. Golf, tennis, softball, ping ping, bowling, basketball and shooting pool. While not truly outstanding in any of them he was athletic enough to have won trophies in each sport he participated in as an individual or a team member. I know these statements to be true and these wishes to be accurate since he was me. Tim Harvey
