Vera Carwile Bond

Vera Carwile Irby Bond, 92, of Evington passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Avante. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Owen Irby and her second Husband, Harvey Lee Bond.

Born in Campbell County, January 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James Frank Carwile and Ethel Roakes Carwile. Vera was a homemaker but loved keeping children over the years. In earlier years, she attended Leawood Baptist Church. She was friends with everyone she met and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley I. Simpson.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce I. Childress of Evington; two brothers, Kenneth Carwile and his wife Shirley of Gladys and Kyle Carwile and his wife Julia of Lynchburg; one sister, Joyce C. West and her husband John of Lynchburg; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be private.
