Virginia Norris

Virginia May Eller Norris, 93, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of 53 years to the late Leonard Cleveland Norris. Born February 11, 1917 in Wilkes County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Albert Eller and Geneva Bernice Franklin Eller Murray.

Mrs. Norris was a devoted wife, daughter and loving mother and blessed with two daughters. She was also a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Francis Eller and one uncle, Ernest W. Franklin.

Mrs. Norris is survived by two daughters, Frances N. Cummings and her husband Kraig of Glen Allen and Betty N. Roach and her husband Bev of Madison Heights; three grandchildren, Laurie Zaryczny and her husband Joey of Bedford, Carol Dillard and her husband Keith of Virginia Beach and Kristie Lynn Roberts of Lynchburg; eight great-grandchildren, Meghan and Nina Zaryczny, Kendall, Kyle and Cara Dillard, Tawnie and Andrea Phillips and Karlie Roberts.

A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
