

Born in Keysville, Virginia, June 7, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lazarus Pearson and Virginia Alexander Perrow Pearson. She was a retired bookkeeper from the Mead Corporation Credit Union after 24 years of service and was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, James P. Wheeler and his wife Liz of Suffolk; two daughters, Carolyn W. Creed of Lynchburg and Barbara W. Beck and her husband Bill of Smith Mountain Lake; five grandchildren, Gary Creed and wife Polly, Wendy Meese and husband Greg, Chris Beck, James Wheeler and Jacob Wheeler and nine great grandchildren, Adam Creed, Elliott Creed, Amanda Meese, Evan Meese, Tyler Beck and Kylie Beck, Justin Creed, Sarah Wheeler and Cynthia Wheeler.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Janet Hawkins officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of Central & Western Virginia, 1022 Commerce St., Lynchburg, VA 24501 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 4502 Starkey Road SW #107 Roanoke, VA 24018.
The family would like to thank the staff of Medical Care Center for the loving care our mother received during her stay, and also to the Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their devotion and loving care of our mother.
