Born in Halifax County, September 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Richard S. Crews and Pocahontas Holt Crews. He was a retired commercial truck driver and spent most of his career with Burlington Industries until they closed. He was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward H. Crews, Sr. and his wife Connie and Kenneth Crews and his wife Barbara all of Lynchburg; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
His daughter, Margaret Ann Crews preceded him in death.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Bryan Ferrell officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Halifax Memorial Garden in South Boston.
