Born on July 9, 1961 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Russell Franklin Spencer and Frances Woodall Spencer. Gorman worked in the construction/ landscaping field and enjoyed golfing, sports, camping and just being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Spencer; two sons, Christopher Spencer and Matthew Spencer; one grandson, Christopher Blake Spencer; siblings, Laura Molette and husband Robert, Russell Spencer, Jr. and wife Susan, Brenda Steele and husband William, and Karen Bryant.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service till 7:30 pm.
