
William Winfrey Blankinship, 83, of Lynchburg, died, Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Geneva Tucker Blankinship. Born October 4, 1929, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Walter Floyd Blankinship, Sr. and the late Odelle Pugh Blankinship.
William was a former employee of Craddock Terry, where he served for 39 years, and he was a member of Rustburg Baptist Church. William also served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. William was a loving husband and brother.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Blankinship, Roy Blankinship and Walter Blankinship, Jr.; and one sister, Margaret B. Milliken.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by one sister, Frances B. Huber of Rustburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Cumbie Cemetery by the Rev. Daniel Wray.
There will be no scheduled visitation hours, but family and friends are welcomed to visit.
