William J. Grishaw Sr.

William J. Grishaw, Sr., 90, of Rustburg, died, Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of the late Helen Arthur Grishaw. Born April 1, 1920, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late William Littleton and Elizabeth Rosser Grishaw.

Mr. Grishaw was a retired self-employed farmer, and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Grishaw is preceded in death by one son, Bruce Grishaw; one daughter, Amy Grishaw; and two brothers, Charlie Grishaw and Melvin Grishaw.

Mr. Grishaw is survived by two sons, William J. Grishaw, Jr. and his wife, Crystal of Monroe and R. Neal Grishaw and his wife, Christine of Rustburg; one daughter, Judy M. Grishaw; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted, 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence of Neal Grishaw.
