William Edwin Jennings

Born December 19, 1937 in Banner Elk, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Edward and Ruth Banner Jennings. William was also preceded in death by three brothers; Robert Edward “Burr” Jennings, Jr., Frederick Douglas Jennings, James Calloway Jennings and two sisters Katherine Augusta MacQueen and Mary Evelyn Hughes.

Mr. Jennings was a Biology teacher for many years, as well as the retired owner and operator of Jennings Home Improvement for over 40 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Bill was a member of Faith Alliance Church. His life was marked by a genuine love for God and people, having never met a stranger.

Mr. Jennings is survived by three daughters; Lorrie (Michael) Weigand of Lynchburg, Karla (Scott) Bomar of Forest, and Lisa (Randall) Ferguson of Spout Spring; the mother of his children Jewel Jennings; and seven grandchildren Joey Gillispie, Madison Gillispie, Curtis Ferguson, Joshua Bomar, Caleb Bomar, Sarah Bomar and Lydia Bomar.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Alliance Church on Saturday, February 5th at 3:00 pm with Pastor Yossi Shalev officiating.
