William Howard “Bill” Self, Sr., 67, of Concord, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at his residence. He was the devoted husband of Linda Wiley Self. Born January 16, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee Self and Jeanie Elliott Self. Bill was retired from Lloyd Concrete Services and was a veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his two sons, Greg Self of Richmond and Billy Self and wife Leigh Ann of Forest; his daughter, Candace Brunk and husband Patrick of Bedford County; a sister, Sharon Pollard (Pete) of Concord; five grandchildren, Izayah, Logan, Landon, Chloe, and Kenadi; his “fishing buddy”, Roger Wiley and many other special family members and friends, too many to mention. A time to celebrate Bill’s life will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg.
