William Stanley, 75, of Lynchburg, passed away, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Trinity Mission in Farmville. He was the husband of Dorothy Barbour Stanley. Born June 30, 1938, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Wine Stanley and the late Etta Mentor Brown Stanley.
William was a retired painter for Robert Wade Painting.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two siblings, Jack Stanley and Ruby Jordan.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his step-children, Virginia Williams (Bobby) of Lynchburg and Vincent Barbour (Consuella) of Evington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Spring Hill Cemetery.
There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home.
