William Stansbury

William Underwood Stansbury, 61, of Forest, died, Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the University of Virginia Hospital. He was the husband of Jane Stansbury. Born March 20, 1950, in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Dr. Frederick Stansbury and the late Winifred Eckels Stansbury.

William was self-employed in the home improvement industry for Sydney’s Home Improvement and Repair. He also worked in the building and maintenance department for Campbell County Schools. William earned his BS degree at SUNY at Oswego, and he also attended Forest Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his son, Jeremy Stansbury and his wife Basia of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Lindsey Stansbury of Lynchburg and Hillary Stansbury of Elkton; five siblings, Fred Stansbury of Arizona, Mark Stansbury and his wife Carol of Arkansas, Jim Stansbury and his wife Terry of Florida, Sharman Shambo and her husband Rick of Florida and John Stansbury and his wife Sharon also of Florida; two grandchildren, Sydney Stansbury and Timpany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted, 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Forest Presbyterian Church with Pastor Morgan Whitfield officiating.
