

Born on January 19, 1926, in Lyndonville, NY, he was the son of the late Ary and Konstantina (Fotiou) Stelianou.
Fred attended Lyndonville High School, graduating in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga in the South Pacific. On returning home, he was employed with Harrison Radiator and for a short time for the former Payjacks Dealership in Medina. Starting in 1950, Fred was Postmaster for the Lyndonville Post Office for over forty years. He was a member of the Yates-Medina Masonic Lodge and a founding member of the American Legion Houseman-Tanner Post #1603 and a member of the Yates-Carlton Sportsman Club and former Mayor of Lyndonville, serving two terms. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and playing euchre with his grandchildren and attending Nutri-Fare.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Andria Meiers and her fiancé, Greg Schuners of Lyndonville; three grandchildren, Tyler Silversmith, Brandon and Declan Meiers; three siblings, Anna and Peter Stelianou, both of Lyndonville; Ernest (June) Stelianou of Webster, NY; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Eugene (Kim) Shepelew of Florida.
Fred is predeceased by his wife, Wilma; three brothers, George, James and Menel.
Relatives and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY with a Masonic Service starting at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM at Lyndonville United Methodist Church, 102 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY with the Rev. Ray Noell officiating. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery with Military Honors.
